How It All Began

Derek and Sherri both grew up on dairy farms, Sherri in Indiana, and Derek in North Carolina. From the time they married, they kept a small garden and a few chickens for fun. But when their fifth child showed serious sensitivity to processed foods, their lifestyle shifted from eating lots of commercially processed foods to eating farm-raised meats and fresh vegetables. The entire family became healthier and stronger. Greene Family Farm was established in 2009, when the Greenes joined an online farmers market. Now they offer meats, eggs, produce, herbs, and jellies at the Foothills Farmers Market in Shelby.
